Shane Lowry is one shot off the lead after the second round of the DP World India Championship.

Lowry, who was the overnight leader after a stunning opening round of 64, was unable to match the highlight of the first day, but still signed for a second round of three-under 69 which moved him to 11 under.

The Ryder Cup hero sits one shot behind clubhouse leader Tommy Fleetwood, who is out on his own on 12 under after shooting a bogey-free round of 64, that included eight birdies.

Brian Harman shares second place with Lowry after signing for a 65.

FULL LEADERBOARD

Lowry got off to strong start and with birdies on the third, sixth and eighth holes, making the turn in 33 – a shot better than his opening round.

However, he stalled slightly on the back nine, with just on further birdie and a bogey on the par-five 18th – a hole he birdied yesterday.

Rory McIlroy is currently out on course after shooting an opening 69, while Conor Purcell could have a sweat to make the cut if it changes from the projected mark of level par.

Purcell shot 69 today but his opening score of 74 leaves him on one under for the tournament and just inside the cut line.
