Matt and Ross Duffer, also known as the Duffer Brothers, have shared some new insights about Stranger Things Season 5.

The popular Netflix series Stranger Things is coming to an end with Season 5. The season is being split into three parts, the first of which arrives next month, while the second two chapters will be released in December.

What did the Duffer Brothers say about Stranger Things Season 5?

Speaking with Empire Magazine, the Duffers detailed two Stranger Things Season 5 episodes — episodes four and eight — that are “just monsters.”

“When we pitched it to Netflix, we genuinely thought the scale was going to be about on par with Season 4,” Matt said. “But, uh… that turned out to be a lie.”

The duo further described Episode 4, which is titled “Sorcerer,” as “the most logistically insane shoot of our lives.”

“We didn’t want to tie everything into a perfect bow, but I think we answer most questions and resolve every arc,” Ross said of the final season. “It was our intention to write a definitive ending to this story.”

The cast of Stranger Things Season 5 includes Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley, Brett Gelman as Murray Bauman, Priah Ferguson as Erica Sinclair, James Campbell Bower as Vecna, Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler, and Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay.

The first volume of Stranger Things Season 5 arrives on November 26, 2025. The second volume follows on December 25, while the third and final volume will then be released on December 31.
