Prince William had a short response after Meghan Markle accused an unnamed royal of gossiping about Prince Archie‘s skin tone.

In 2021, Meghan Markle shocked the world when she accused one of her in-laws of making prejudiced comments about Prince Archie during an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
“We have in tandem the conversation of ‘He won’t be given security, he’s not going to be given a title’ and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born,” Meghan told Winfrey.
Shortly after the tell-all aired, Prince William shut down the assumptions people made about the royal family due to Meghan Markle’s comments.
“We’re very much not a racist family,” William told a journalist when asked about the Duchess of Sussex’s accusations.
The royal family later admitted to viewing Meghan Markle’s royal experience differently.
“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. [The issues] are taken very seriously… Nevertheless, I hope this is a moment from which we can all learn together,” the statement read. “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members”
Daily Mirror’s associate editor Kevin Maguire discussed how upset Prince William was during Channel 5’s Royal Heirs and Spares: Rivalry & Resentment.
“That moment when William said the Royal Family isn’t racist, that revealed molten anger,” Maguir said.
“He also appreciated the harm and the damage that the accusation had made for that family,” Kevin Maguire continued. “That was absolutely extraordinary, those few words, that little response, told us a huge amount.”
