Prince Harry has repeatedly made it clear just how much he wants mend his shattered relationship with King Charles and the rest of The Firm, but a concealed whisper to a royal confidante could return to trouble him. Things moved closer towards reconciliation recently when the Prince met with his father on a rare visit to England.
The gathering occurred after an earlier explosive interview where the Duke revealed that his father “won’t speak to him” owing to his acrimonious legal dispute over the extent of security he deserves whilst on British soil. Speaking about the prolonged rift with his relatives, Harry had declared: “There is no point in continuing to fight anymore, life is precious.”
And in a gesture that presumably stunned the Palace, the Duke remarked “I don’t know how much longer my father has,” referring to Charles’ cancer diagnosis.

The prince acknowledged that “some members of my family will never forgive me” for penning his incendiary memoir Spare, but then stated: “It would be nice to have that reconciliation part now. If they don’t want that, that’s entirely up to them.”
Whilst Harry claims he is “ready to forgive,” his fury appeared evident at his father’s Coronation, according to a lip reader who has revealed a distressing exchange between Harry and his cousin and longstanding Rroyal supporter, Princess Eugenie. A Channel 5 TV programme, Lip-Reading The Royals: The Secret Conversations, revealed countless royal exchanges at significant occasions, with the Prince facing scrutiny.
Harry appeared isolated on the steps of Westminster Abbey during his father’s Coronation ceremony in 2023, having returned to British shores without wife Meghan and their children. As his family members congregated together at the service’s conclusion, it became evident that tensions persisted.

The Duke subsequently approached Eugenie, amongst the handful of royals with whom he maintains a bond, and reportedly grumbled: “I’ve spent five hours with my dad in his office and not a friendly text from either”, according to lip-reading experts.
It remains unclear precisely who failed to message Harry – whether Charles and Camilla, or William and Kate – though the Duke appears not to have communicated with his brother for years.
The lip reader suggests he then enquires “Why hasn’t anybody contacted me?” with Eugenie offering a sympathetic yet guarded smile in response. Another conversation – between Harry and Meghan this time – also came to light in the documentary.
The discussion took place between the Sussexes during a Service of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey in 2018, merely six months following their glamorous Windsor Castle wedding.

The pair were accompanied in the Abbey by the complete Royal Family, including the late Queen Elizabeth, to pay tribute to fallen military personnel and commemorate the Centenary of the Armistice. In a documentary, it was revealed that as Harry and Meghan sat awaiting the start of a ceremony, they began to chat and assess their situation, with Meghan posing a serious question to Harry.
Lip reading expert Nicola Hickling interpreted their conversation for the programme, suggesting Meghan told Harry to “take advantage of the situation”, before she glanced around at the Royal crowd surrounding them.
According to Hickling, Harry responded to her remark by querying: “Today?”, to which Meghan replied: “Do it tonight.” Harry then asked Meghan: “You do realise that this is the end?” and Meghan acknowledged: “Yeah, I do know”.
Royal historian Dr Tessa Dunlop then speculated that these seemingly private exchanges between the Sussexes could indicate that the couple had been planning their dramatic departure from the Royal family long before they officially decided to step back.
