Prince Harry and Meghan Markle faced mockery on a Piers Morgan Uncensored panel following their humanitarian award victory.
The 60-year-old presenter kicked off the discussion by declaring he couldn’t imagine two less humanitarian individuals on the planet. While briefing his panel, he revealed that her Netflix contract has declined in worth.
Piers discussed how Meghan had drawn parallels to the Obamas, suggesting that her show’s modest performance actually demonstrates resilience.
Fighting back laughter, he continued: “The delusion to compare yourself to a former American President, isn’t the reality that their star is plummeting pretty quickly in America?
“The problem with that is you see with Harry trying to get back in, see the King, is that they know the only currency for them that works is their association with the Royal Family,” he added.
She further commented that she believes their reputation is “crumbling”, stating, “I think they look very anxious and desperate right now, and that’s not a great look for the British Royal Family either, because they insist on using their titles.”
Meghan and Harry have recently stirred controversy with their participation in various events, starting with their humanitarian award.
The most recent backlash followed Meghan’s appearance at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women summit, where she discussed entrepreneurship. Several observers, including US radio host Billy Bush, criticized this move.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who left the UK in March 2020 and stepped down as senior royals, have continued to cause uproar with their ongoing ties to the Royal Family and their projects remain a point of dispute.
