The drum and bass rave took place in Holme Valley
Residents have expressed their anger after being kept awake all night by loud music pumping from woodland in West Yorkshire.
Scores of people in and around the Holme Valley took to social media to complain about loud and deep drum bass music resounding out until at least 6am, YorkshireLive reports. Some locals said their children were in tears and unable to sleep from 1am onwards.
Infuriated residents even hopped into their cars to drive around the area trying to find out where the music was coming from.
One angry resident told YorkshireLive: “It’s been going on since midnight. Apparently, it’s coming from up in a wooded area near Home Moss. The police have been informed but can’t do much without a precise location.
“People were driving around in the middle of the night trying to find where the noise was coming from, but couldn’t, its echoing everywhere.”

A large crowd is still present, according to YorkshireLive, and the music continues, albeit quieter than last night.
A police officer is standing guard at the scene. An Alsatian is roaming around as youngsters continue to party.
Two revellers told YorkshireLive how they travelled from Manchester to the ‘free’ party at 4am after finding out about it from a friend.
They got a £60 Uber from Manchester. They said the party was very loud and they could understand why people would complain.
However, not all of the party-goers were sympathetic to the local residents. When told how heavy bass music had kept scores of residents awake all night, a pair of ravers simply said ‘ah well’ – but they pointed out they had cleaned up any mess left behind.
When asked what time it started, they responded: “1am” and when asked where it was, they said “about a 10 minute walk away”.
When told of the complaints, they said: “Ah well, ah well, that’s what we like mate.”
When asked what music it was they said: “Good music, hard tech.” When asked where they are from, they said: “Everywhere and nowhere” and pointed out how they had cleaned up “all the litter and everything”.
One person walked for two hours to try and locate the rave. He described it as “the same drum and bass track that’s been looping for six hours”, adding how it was clearest in the Upperthong area.
Megan and Calum from Meltham said: “The noise has been horrific all night. We have young children, including a baby who has been disturbed by the noise too. We thought it was neighbours at first having a house party!
“We’ve all been there but come on at least put some decent music on! It’s still going now at 9.30am – tedious!”
YorkshireLive understands that West Yorkshire Police were called to the scene but that only one police car was present.
