Now, founder and executive chief Matin Khan has been named as ‘Best Curry Chef of the Year’.

Reacting to the honour, Khan said: “I love mixing different spices and offering guests great food backed by personal service. Both are significant parts of Bangla culture.”

Bangladeshi-born Khan opened Clippers, Dalkeith’s first Indian restaurant in 1996, before launching Itihaas eleven years later.

Syed Belal Ahmed, Editor of Curry Life Media Group, commented on the high standards of this year’s winners: “The UK’s curry industry features some of the country’s most innovative entrepreneurs and restaurateurs. All of them have inspiring stories to tell, and they must be given the necessary support to grow and thrive.”

Khan is also the founder and executive chef of The Radhuni restaurant in Loanhead, which was named Best Restaurant at the awards.
