Another Harlan Coben series is well on its way, and with the success of previous collaborations between the author, Netflix and our very own Quay Street Productions, the excitement for the New Year 2026 release is so real. Filming for Run Away began in Manchester and around the North West in January, and now we have the very first photos of the production.

Starring James Nesbitt, Minnie Driver, Ruth Jones, and Alfred Enoch, Run Away follows the success of Coben’s Netflix hits Missing You earlier this year, and Fool Me Once, which were both also filmed mostly around Greater Manchester – and if those productions are anything to go off, we’ve got another huge success on our hands.

Run Away is set to put us in the protagonist’s mind: You’ve lost your daughter. She’s addicted to drugs and to an abusive boyfriend. And she’s made it clear that she doesn’t want to be found. Then, by chance, you see her playing guitar in Central Park. But she’s not the girl you remember. This woman is living on the edge, frightened, and clearly in trouble.
You don’t stop to think. You approach her, beg her to come home. She runs. And you do the only thing a parent can do: you follow her into a dark and dangerous world you never knew existed. Before you know it, both your family and your life are on the line. And in order to protect your daughter from the evils of that world, you must face them head on.

All of the stars were spotted filming in Stockport, alongside the city centre, most notably with Ruth Jones getting into what seems to be a 1980s Volkswagen Polo, just outside of the very central Egerton Arms. There were also some definite scenes filmed in popular brunch spot Evelyn’s in the Northern Quarter, and we’re sure there’ll be many more to spot whilst we binge it.

As with previous Harlan Coben releases, Run Away is set to be the big New Year’s Day release on January 1st, 2026… something to look forward to when you’re horribly hungover, surrounded by cold pizza and Lucozade.
