Frances Tiafoe will be working with a two-time Grand Slam finalist as his coach from the 2026 season.
Tiafoe caused concern after losing his last five matches, with the American not living up to the expectations he has created for himself as a former top 10 player.
The two-time US Open semifinalist then made a big decision, as Tiafoe decided to end his season early.
This was not the only big decision he has made, with Tiafoe also parting ways with his entire team.

After Tiafoe parted ways with his coaching team, it has since been confirmed that he will now be working with former world number four Todd Martin.
This will not be Martin’s first experience coaching a player, as he has previously worked with Mardy Fish and none other than Novak Djokovic.

Martin joined Djokovic’s coaching team when he had won just one Grand Slam title at the time in August 2009.
However, their coaching relationship was short-lived, with Martin departing from Djokovic’s team just eight months later.
Although this was not a long-term situation, Martin was still part of Djokovic’s team when he won five titles including the 2009 Paris Masters.
The split also appeared to be amicable, with Djokovic full of praise for Martin when speaking to FoxNews about the reason why they parted ways.
“Todd is a fantastic person,” Djokovic said at the time. “He has so much experience and was willing to share everything with me. There are no hard feelings but we just decided it was not working. It was probably a question of understanding what kind of person I am.”
The reputation Todd Martin gained as a tennis player that James Blake joked made him want to ‘vomit’
It appears that it is not only Djokovic who views Martin as a good person, as that was also a reputation he gained for himself as a player.
So much so that former world number four James Blake and Martin’s compatriot once joked that it made him and other players feel unwell.

“Justin [Gimelstob] said to Todd, `I’m tired of you getting these I’m the Greatest Guy in the World awards,’” Blake joked.
“It makes us vomit to see how many he gets, but they’re well-deserved. Just being a nice guy in a sport that’s inherently selfish is impressive, and that’s something I’ve looked up to even when I was a kid. I said long ago that I’d love to be someone like Todd.
“Even if they don’t get to be the best in the world, they’re looked upon as being a nice guy, and I don’t think anyone will ever argue that point about him.”
Tiafoe is a player who appears to thrive off positivity, and he will be hoping that Martin can bring that out of him when they join forces for the 2026 season.
