Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson and partner Zion are living in a hospital room ‘ticking off baby milestones’ as they prepare to become parents

Pregnant singer Jesy Nelson is now on complete bed rest and hopes to give birth to her “brave twins” in May after a difficult pregnancy.

The former Little Mix star and boyfriend Zion Foster have been staying in hospital for the last six weeks after previously revealing the babies had Twin-to-Twin Transfusion syndrome which means they are both feeding from one placenta. Partner Zion revealed emotional Jesy, 33, is “ticking off milestones every week” until they can become proud parents.

As he prepared to run the London Marathon on Sunday he said of the unborn twins: “They’re just giving us so much hope they’re going to come out healthy and spend the least time in the neonatal unit as possible. We’re so grateful because Jesy and the twins have come through so much. There were so many times in this pregnancy we didn’t think we’d get to where we are now.”

Jesy and Zion announced her twin pregnancy in January to fans on social media. They have been keeping them updated along the way including when Jesy needed emergency surgery to resolve the TTTS issues.

Zion, 26, said: “The hardest moment was definitely the operation. But now that we’ve overcome that, every day is just a day better, A day more of them growing which just makes us happy. We just want them to keep growing, growing, growing so they can come out as healthy as possible.

“I do think we’ve come out of the storm a little bit. I mean, look, the truth is she’s still premature. So the reality is there is still that sense we need them to keep staying in. But from where we’ve come, we just feel so grateful. We just keep ticking off day by day and hopefully just let them go as long as they can.”

Zion was giving the couple’s first interview since Jesy became pregnant as he aims to raise money for the charity Twins Trust, which support families with educational and financial support for twins.

Jesy is now around 7 months pregnant, but has documented on social media that there have been some worries along the way when they weren’t sure if the twins would make it.

Zion said: “I wanted to run specifically for the Twins Trust, because of what Jess has gone through. So with the complications we’ve had something called TTTS.

“Essentially, there’s not an equal share of blood flow and nutrients in the body for the twins. So one twin will end up getting too much or one twin will end up getting too little.

“And I guess when we found out we had twins, you just don’t know what comes with it. Everyone just sees, ‘Oh my God, you’ve got twins? That’s amazing, congratulations’. But it actually, it can add so many complications.

” It can make pregnancy such a difficult time, not just for the mum, but also the father as well. Just because there’s so much uncertainty.”
