Alan Ivan Boyd (28) passed away in Co Fermanagh late on Friday evening.

Mr Boyd, from Castlederg, was well-known within the community as owner of a Kesh-based haulage company, Harron Car Transport Ltd.

A service of thanksgiving took place on Tuesday afternoon, followed by committal held at Castlederg Cemetery.

Tributes poured in for the father-of-three who was remembered as a “gentleman” and is survived by wife Kathryn, children Maddison, Cooper and Charley, as well as father Colin and the late Jacqueline

The PSNI said they were called to the Pettigo Road due to a “serious road traffic collision” with emergency responses continuing on Saturday morning.

Mr Boyd was found deceased at the scene.

The PSNI said his death was not being treated as suspicious or as the result of the collision.

In a social media post, Kathryn paid a heartfelt tribute to her husband and informed people of the temporary closure of the family business.

She said: “We will be closed until further notice. We will be back. There is a massive legacy to uphold and continue with the plans he made me very much aware of, thankfully.

“We find peace that he will guide us in the direction that us required. But in the meantime, we hope he will help us through these painful days until a plan is made.”

Mr Boyd was married in the summer of last year.

Other messages of sympathy pointed to Mr Boyd being a “grafter” with a strong work ethic.

A transport company who worked with Mr Boyd also offered their condolences.

They said: “A sad day at LTL with the terrible tragic news of the loss of our dear friend and past colleague Aly Boyd. You will forever be remembered, Aly.

“Rest easy our dear friend Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Kathryn and his young family, his father Colin and brothers Dean and Ian.”
