Mason already confirmed that Toby Collyer was set to be missing – after being taken off in the victory over Preston on Saturday.
But Albion have been dealt another blow – with one of Mason’s midfield options also ruled out.
Jayson Molumby, who was on the bench on Saturday, is out of the squad due to injury – with Ousmane Diakite coming into the side in place of Collyer.
It is just a second start of the season for Diakite – and it is a first start in an Albion shirt for summer signing Alfie Gilchrist.
The defender signed for £1.2m from Chelsea, having spent a season on loan at Sheffield United.
He has had to wait for his chance – but he comes in at right back in place of George Campbell who has been slotting in on that side since the departure of Darnell Furlong.
Elsewhere, as expected, Josh Maja is replaced by Aune Heggebo – with the striker still building up to full fitness and not being risked with two starts in a week.
Albion: Griffiths, Gilchrist, Mepham, Phillips, Styles, Mowatt, Diakite, Johnston, Price, Iling-Junior, Heggebo
Subs: Wildsmith, Wallis, Taylor, Campbell, Deeming, Bostock, Maja, Dike, Grant
