Risk of heavy rain in Birmingham tomorrow as Met Office shares alert

Birmingham residents have been warned of heavy rain as Storm Benjamin hits parts of Britain.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather alert for the city, among other areas of the country.
The warning is in place for most of Thursday, October 23, from midnight until 6pm.

Drivers were told to expect an “increased chance of accidents”, longer journey times and “difficult driving conditions.”
Spray on the roads and flooding was also predicted, according to the alert.
The yellow weather warning said: “Risk of heavy rain for southern and eastern parts of Britain associated with Storm Benjamin.
“[Expect] Spray and flooding on roads leading to difficult driving conditions and increased chance of accidents, making journey times longer.
“Public transport affected in places with some journey times taking longer. Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely.”
There were no other warnings for Birmingham for the rest of the week, with Thursday set to be the only day affected.
