Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has travelled with the squad to face Go Ahead Eagles in the Europa League on Thursday night, but Lucas Digne is unavailable due to the injury he sustained against Tottenham on Sunday.
The left-back suffered a deep cut just above his ankle after Kevin Danso followed through on him while clearing the ball inside the box.
Digne managed to carry on until the 82nd minute, but after the match, he posted a picture of his gruesome injury.
Meanwhile, Mings has missed Villa’s last three matches due to an ankle problem suffered in the first half of the win over Fulham nearly a month ago.
Pau Torres started against Bologna instead of Mings, in the game where Villa achieved their first victory of the campaign, before going on to win their next four matches.
Against Go Ahead Eagles, Villa are targeting their sixth successive victory in all competitions and their third in a row in the Europa League.
Youri Tielemans remains sidelined with a calf issue, having suffered a setback earlier this month, and could be out for at least another couple of weeks.
Andres Garcia, who hasn’t played a minute this season, also remains sidelined due to injury.
Ross Barkley was not selected in Villa’s European squad for the league phase.
