Locals previously raised concerns about “ongoing issues” on Broadloan, including the condition of the pavement and the “obstruction” of streetlights due to trees on the route.
It has now been confirmed that Renfrewshire Council has been asked to check the lighting, and action will be taken where necessary to improve visibility.
In terms of the pavement damage, the local authority has explained that “this is one of many areas in Renfrewshire where large, mature tree roots have raised the pavement”.

They also stated that “repairing the pavement would require cutting into the roots, which could destabilise the trees”.
They’re currently surveying all affected street trees across Renfrewshire to identify where removal is needed to allow safe repairs.
Councillor Jamie McGuire provided the update.
