King Charles will be visiting Lichfield Cathedral next week, the dean has announced.

The King will be speaking to invited guests, including volunteers and local choirs, during his visit on Monday before he goes to another venue in the city.

The public were invited to greet the King on his arrival outside the front entrance, the cathedral said, with people urged to arrive outside from 09:00 GMT.

The Right Reverand Jan McFarlane, Dean of Lichfield, said she was “thrilled” to welcome the King, 14 years after the late Queen Elizabeth II visited.
