An Edinburgh resident claims to have witnessed a UFO in the night sky while she was looking outside her living room window.
Shirley Anne captured footage of what appears to be a mysterious flying object before rising out of shot on Tuesday evening, April 22.
The sighting was reported near the New Town and according to Shirley it was hovering above Donaldson’s School and Haymarket.

Shirley claims to have seen three UFO’s over the years but this particular one was visible for over an hour.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Shirley added: “It was 9.15pm on Tuesday April 22 2025. I was closing my living room blinds when I saw a bright light in the sky.
“I watched it for around 30 minutes, I was memorised. With my naked eye it looked triangular with pointed wings.
“I took a video and photo and it was circular. I sat down and watched tv to take my mind of it and 30 mins later I looked and it was still there.
“I took another video and decided to report it. I’ve seen three UFO’s over the years but this one was erratic for over an hour.

“First UFO was 1976 at Gypsy Brae. Second UFO was when the Scottish parliament was being built.”
Back in August 2024, an Edinburgh resident claims to have witnessed a UFO above the clouds over the capital during broad daylight.
The sighting was reported near Edinburgh Airport and according to Gary, the object moved closer to North Berwick before disappearing as he quickly scrambled to film what he witnessed.
Gary spotted the UFO’drifting across the sky and assumed it was a plane due to the location before noticing it represented an “unusual looking object.”
