The West Yorkshire Fashion Week showcase was held at Gomersal Park Hotel earlier this month.

Everything from high-end couture to bold streetwear, all created by designers from across the county, was on display at the sell-out show.

Who organised the event?

It was the brainchild of Hollie Haughin, of Cleckheaton, who works at Burberry.

Hollie, 24, said the event was a great success.

She told the Telegraph & Argus: “We had 20 amazing designers take part in West Yorkshire Fashion Week, with an audience of around 150 guests – including the Mayor of Kirklees, fashion influencers, members of the media and business professionals from the industry.

‘Such a proud moment for everyone involved’

“Halfway through the show, we were treated to a special performance by Miss Grace Richo – Miss Leicestershire and Miss East Midlands – who presented and sang Never Enough.

“It was an incredible day and such a proud moment for everyone involved.

“West Yorkshire Fashion Week is where creativity meets opportunity, showcasing the best of our local talent while setting the stage for the future of fashion in the heart of the UK.”

Documentary to come

Hollie added: “Looking ahead, our next show is May 9, 2026 – keep your eyes peeled for updates.

“We also have a documentary about the journey of West Yorkshire Fashion Week coming soon.”

Before the event, Hollie told the T&A of her inspiration for founding West Yorkshire Fashion Week.

She said: “While working in the fashion industry, I’ve seen how many of the big opportunities and platforms are focused in London.

“But here in West Yorkshire, we’re surrounded by incredible talent – designers, models, artists – all brimming with creativity, but often without the same access or exposure.

‘A place where local talent can shine’

“That’s why I started West Yorkshire Fashion Week – to build a stage closer to home.

“It’s a place where local talent can shine, where community meets creativity and where we can show the world what this area has to offer.

“This isn’t just an event – it’s the beginning of something bigger.

“It’s a celebration of local voices, fresh perspectives and the belief that fashion should be inclusive and accessible, no matter where you’re from.

“West Yorkshire deserves to be on the fashion map – and we’re here to make that happen.”
