São Paulo, Brazil — October 18, 2025. A Belgian man was arrested at São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport after customs agents found 18 exotic birds hidden in his luggage. The birds, all native to Brazil, were discovered in poor condition during an X-ray inspection. Authorities say the suspect faces charges of animal cruelty and wildlife trafficking.
