Sarah Ferguson is not pleased with her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.

A royal insider told The Daily Mail in an article published on Friday, October 24, that Ferguson, 66, had “gone into a meltdown” when Andrew, 65, told her she would yield her title as Duchess of York and “was wailing that he shouldn’t do it.”

“The Royal Lodge ‘summit’ wasn’t a happy occasion and the family, once a strong unit, is fractured,” the insider told the outlet, referring to the meeting that took place at Andrew and Ferguson’s home with their eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, 37.

The insider noted the former couple’s younger daughter, Princess Eugenie, 35, was not present for the family meeting.

As Examiner previously reported, Ferguson lost her royal titles when Andrew relinquished his on Friday, October 17, due to the ongoing controversy regarding his connection to the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. (Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.)

“With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me,” Andrew said in a statement released by Buckingham Palace on Friday, October 17. “As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
