If you’re on the hunt for a unique Christmas market to visit this festive season, then travel and lifestyle content creators Francesca and Tommaso may have just the place for you.
The pair, who go by @takemyhearteverywhere on TikTok, have revealed a destination that hosts one of Italy’s ‘finest Christmas markets’ – Trento. Located in the Trentino region of Northern Italy, Trento’s Christmas market has been a staple since 1993. The European market is set within the city’s historic centre, featuring numerous wooden chalets and vendors spread across two main squares: Piazza Fiera and Piazza Mostra. Addressing their 153,000 followers, Francesca and Tommaso said: “You’ve probably never heard of Trento’s Christmas markets – but they’re among the most magical in Italy.”
“This small Alpine city turns into a winter postcard every year, with traditional wooden stalls, twinkling lights and snowy mountains in the background.”

They further explained that Piazza Fiera is the main square where visitors can explore local cuisine, handicrafts, and festive illuminations.
On the other hand, Piazza Mostra offers a “more intimate” setting, focusing on handcrafted gifts and decorations.
For those planning a visit, the market opens on November 21 and runs until January 6.
Opening hours are 10am-8pm each day, while the food area stays open until 9pm on Friday and Saturday. The pair revealed their favourite picks from the market, including vin brule, tortel di patate, canederli and strudel.
They also praised the market for being amongst Europe’s most environmentally conscious, featuring a plastic-free setting and sustainable energy supplies.

Along with their suggestions, they shared a video compilation highlighting the market’s best features, including hot chocolates topped with cream, delightful stalls, mouth-watering cuisine, Father Christmas, a big wheel and a train journey.
Their travel tips proved popular, with the post receiving more than 19,000 likes.
One fan declared: “Oh wow,” after watching the footage, whilst another remarked that it appeared ‘straight out of a Christmas film’.
A third noted: “Wow, this looks like a Christmas wonderland.”
A fourth agreed: “This looks so magical!”.
How can you get there?
Visitors planning a trip to Trento can travel to a neighbouring airport such as Verona Villafranca Airport (VRN), with flights from Manchester taking roughly two hours and 20 minutes.
From Verona airport, a rail journey to Trento lasts about 1 hour 20 minutes, and the market is merely a brief 5/10 minute stroll from the station.
Alternatively, rail and bus routes are possible, though these can take much longer, spanning from 13-29 hours in each direction.
