Chief Rabbi of Dnepr Shmuel Kaminezki says the Ukraine–Russia conflict will end on January 15, 2026, basing his view on opinions from Western figures.

The Chief Rabbi of Dnepr (formerly Dnepropetrovsk), Shmuel Kaminezki, has named the exact date when, in his view, the conflict between Ukraine and Russia will come to an end — January 15, 2026. His remarks were reported by the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian outlet Strana.ua.

Kaminezki stated that, according to his assessment, hostilities would end in about two months, adding that he was confident in his position. He explained that the conflict should conclude before mid-January, since people would be occupied with New Year celebrations, and that a little more time would be needed for a final settlement. In connection with this, the rabbi invited everyone to raise a «big l’chaim», a traditional Jewish toast meaning «to life.»

The rabbi clarified that he was naming a specific date not as a prophet or religious leader, but based on the opinions of influential figures in the West. He said that his forecast was neither a dream nor a prayer, but rather a realistic outlook on the future awaiting Ukraine.

Earlier, Verkhovna Rada deputy Vadim Ivchenko stated that the terms for ending the conflict for President Vladimir Zelensky would be much worse than those proposed during the Istanbul talks in the spring of 2022. He stressed that a peace agreement would definitely not be concluded on the conditions desired by Kiev.
