Bryan Armetta breaks down the latest Drake London injury news before Sunday’s Miami Dolphins-Atlanta Falcons Week 8 NFL matchup.

Questions abound for the Falcons entering Sunday afternoon. Quarterback Michael Penix (knee) could sit out against the Dolphins. Now, Atlanta’s top pass catcher may join him. Wide receiver Drake London was downgraded to questionable on Saturday, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

For a Falcons club with postseason aspirations, losing their WR1 would be a massive blow. That’s also true for fantasy football managers hoping for a Week 8 victory. Will London suit up this weekend against Miami?

Drake London outlook for Week 8

It hasn’t been an amazing 2025 campaign for London. Through six games, he’s recorded 38 catches for 469 yards and two touchdowns. However, the 24-year-old is still a set-it and forget-it fantasy football starter. In addition, there’s room to grow. Atlanta’s budding star currently ranks ninth in the league with 63 targets.

This is a massive week for the Falcons, currently sitting at 3-3. Blowing a game vs. the hapless Dolphins would be a major hit for the team’s playoff hopes. In addition, this game has shootout potential; Miami has allowed the fifth-most yards per pass attempt this season (7.4). Even at less than 100%, London is poised for a solid showing…if he plays.

To make things more chaotic, Penix’s backup is none other than Kirk Cousins. The former Pro Bowler, for better or worse, is a true gunslinger. However, that hasn’t translated to massive production for London in the past. Over his previous ten games with Cousins, the USC alum is averaging 62.0 receiving yards per game. In comparison, that mark rises to 88.2 over London’s last ten outings with Penix.

Regardless of who plays under center, London remains a must-start. Unfortunately, a Saturday afternoon questionable tag doesn’t bode well for his availability. If the fourth-year pro does sit, fellow wide receiver Darnell Mooney could garner plenty of targets. In addition, tight end Kyle Pitts might cause matchup problems for a lackluster Dolphins secondary. This situation will be one to monitor up until kickoff, scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST. Fantasy managers should prepare for the possibility that London won’t suit up against Miami.
