Premier League champions Liverpool are enduring a tough spell under Arne Slot, with the Merseyside outfit slipping to another defeat on Saturday.
The Reds were second best in large parts of their 3-2 defeat to Brentford, leaving last year’s top team well off the pace domestically.
Defeat at the Gtech Community Stadium was Liverpool’s fourth Premier League loss in a row and the Anfield outfit will need to dig deep if they are to get back on track.

Liverpool signed Alexander Isak and a host of other big names over the summer, but it is clear the new men have not gelled or found their rhythm yet.
In a poor performance against Brentford, only one Reds player can hold his head up after the game.

Dominik Szoboszlai was selected in a midfield triumvirate along with Curtis Jones and a struggling Florian Wirtz against Brentford, and put in an impressive performance.
The Hungary international’s versatility is an asset for Slot’s men, with Liverpool fielding him at right-back on occasion this season also.
However, with Ryan Gravenberch missing due to injury and Alexis MacAllister on the bench, Szoboszlai was the driving force in the Reds midfield.
His industry and work-rate led to Mohamed Salah’s late consolation goal while the Hungarian’s quality on the ball was clear for all to see.
With Liverpool needing leaders to rally around, Szoboszlai will be an important figure in upcoming games against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Real Madrid.
Time for right-back experiment to end
While Szoboszlai is more than good enough to play at full-back, Liverpool are a better team with him in the heart of the side’s midfield.
Despite an injury to Jeremy Frimpong, rising star Conor Bradley is desperate for a run in the team and should be afforded this opportunity in the next few weeks.

This would allow Liverpool to field their best midfield – Szoboszlai, Gravenberch and MacAllister – as the Reds look to dominate possession and create chances in upcoming games.
For Szoboszlai, this is a chance for him to prove his worth to Slot and become an undroppable player for the rest of the season.
