A man has been arrested after hundreds of cannabis plants were seized during a raid in Bolton.

Officers descended on a property in Kearsley early on Saturday morning (October 25).

Greater Manchester Police says a ‘substantial cannabis farm’ was found inside the property.

Around 250 plants were seized from inside the cannabis farm.

A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and abstraction of electricity.

A GMP Bolton spokesperson said: “Early [Saturday] morning, officers from the South Neighbourhood Team executed a S23 Misuse of Drugs Act Warrant at an address in Kearsley.

“A substantial cannabis farm was located inside the address with approximately 250 plants.

“A male, aged 59, was arrested on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis and abstraction of electricity. He remains in custody for questioning.”

GMP has been approached for an update on the investigation.
