A man was rushed to hospital following an ‘altercation’ outside a Manchester pub.

Officers descended on Wilmslow Road, in Fallowfield, at 11pm on Saturday night (October 25).

A cordon was put in place at the junction of Wilmslow Road and Egerton Road, outside the Friendship Inn.

Greater Manchester Police says it was called out to reports of a disturbance.

The man is receiving treatment to his injuries today (Sunday), which GMP says are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

An image from the scene showed at least two police vans in attendance in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Egerton Road was taped off at the junction with Wilmslow Road. The road later reopened.

A GMP spokesperson said: “At around 11pm on Saturday, October 25, officers responded to reports of a disturbance near Wilmslow Road, Manchester.

“One man was taken to hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries.

“They are not thought to be life-threatening or changing.”
