As a result of the incident, the road has been closed off by the authorities, with buses diverted.

On their website, Lothian Buses informed their customers of service diversions. They wrote: “Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Glasgow Road and Drum Brae South and are instead diverted via Maybury Road and Drum Brae North in both directions until further notice.”

Services 1, 17, 21 and 26 are all affected.

Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
