With skyscrapers popping up virtually everywhere in Manchester, it’s poignant to look back at what started it all. Standing proudly on Quay Street since 1932, Sunlight House has been an important feature of the Manchester skyline for generations, and having now been lovingly restored, it’s set to become home to the city’s second Joe & The Juice store.

Last week, property developer Karrev celebrated the completion of its £35 million restoration of Manchester’s Sunlight House, a defining moment for one of the city’s most recognisable Art Deco landmarks. Now, the iconic building will enter a new era that celebrates its historic character while giving it a new lease of life, putting modern design and sustainability at its core.

As Sunlight House reaches this major milestone, excitement continues to build for the building with Joe & The Juice signing a 15-year lease on a prime 2,300 sq ft ground-floor unit. The internationally acclaimed Danish brand, famous for its fresh juices, shakes and signature sandwiches, will open its flagship Manchester store in spring 2026. It’ll be the second Joe & The Juice site in Manchester, after the recent opening of the Cross Street store.

Founded in Copenhagen and now operating more than 300 stores worldwide, Joe & The Juice joins a dynamic line-up of tenants including the award-winning Schofield’s Bar, longstanding florist Flower Style, and recently announced PINs Social Club. Together, they represent a carefully curated mix of high-quality brands that position Sunlight House as a vibrant and aspirational destination for work and leisure.

Julien Buronfosse, Managing Director at Karrev, said: “The signing of a top tier global brand such as Joe & The Juice reflects our vision to curate a world-class experience for everyone who walks through these doors.

“Sitting alongside neighbouring tenants PINS, Schofield’s Bar and Flower Style, Joe & The Juice will ensure Sunlight House is offering our tenants and the people of Manchester something special from breakfast right through to evening.”
