Road closures remain in place

A cyclist was injured in a collision with a van in the city centre of Bristol this evening (Monday, October 27).

Avon and Somerset Police were called to Counterslip, in Redcliffe, at the junction with Victoria Street at around 5pm.

A van and a cyclist were involved in the crash at the junction.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Police remain at the scene this evening conducting enquiries, and a number of road closures are in effect.

The junctions with St Thomas Street East, Redcliffe Street and Temple Street are closed.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called at around 5pm to Counterslip, in the Redcliffe area of Bristol, today (Monday, October 27) to a collision involving a cyclist and a van.

“The cyclist has been taken to hospital, where their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life changing.

“Road closures on Counterslip and Victoria Street remain in place while enquiries are ongoing.

“If you were in the area and witnessed the collision, please call 101 and quote reference 5225301352.”
