The stage is set for an entertaining second day at the WTA Jiujiang Open with eight matches on the schedule in China. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the slate, including Alycia Parks vs Zhu Lin, but who will advance to the second round?
WTA Jiujiang Day 2 Predictions
Anna Blinkova vs Chloe Paquet
Head-to-head: Paquet 1-0 Blinkova
Anna Blinkova has endured a disappointing 2025. Losing in the opening or second round has been almost constant for her throughout the season, with this week providing her with a last opportunity to find some form ahead of 2026. Chloe Paquet’s form in recent months is similarly unimpressive. At her best, Blinkova is a more complete player and should win this match, though it might not be the best spectacle.
Prediction: Blinkova in 3

Elisabetta Cocciaretto vs Camila Osorio
Head-to-head: Cocciaretto 2-1 Osorio
Cocciaretto won the only previous hard-court meeting between these two. She has more powerful groundstrokes than Osorio, especially in backhand-to-backhand cross-court rallies. Although Osorio’s grit means she should never be ruled out, I favor Cocciaretto’s game on hard courts slightly more.
Prediction: Cocciaretto in 2
Lilli Tagger vs Zhu Chenting
Head-to-head: first meeting
Lilli Tagger is used to be significantly younger than her opponents, but she only a year younger than her 18-year-old opponent in her WTA Jiujiang opener. Although Zhu Chenting will have a home crowd’s support, which Tagger might not be used to, the Austrian has a more formidable game. She is ranked over 300 places higher than her opponent, and it is hard to see her losing this match.
Prediction: Tagger in 2

Ann Li vs Zhuoxuan Bai
Head-to-head: first meeting
Playing again just two days after winning the title in Guangzhou means Ann Li may not reach the same heights as last week in this match. However, this seems like an ideal draw for the top seed at the WTA Jiujiang Open. Bai Zhuoxuan, meanwhile, played just her third match since the 2024 US Open earlier this month in Jinan, losing her opener to the inexperienced (though in-form) Priska Madelyn Nugroho. That lack of match practice will make it very challenging for her to beat the in-form Li.
Prediction: Li in 2
