COMMUNITY SAFETY: PCC Emily Spurrell and Chief Constable Rob Carden at the public Scrutiny Meeting

Merseyside residents are being invited to submit questions for the Chief Constable and his senior team ahead of the next public Scrutiny Meeting. Police and Crime Commissioner Emily Spurrell, who holds Chief Constable Rob Carden to account for delivering on policing and community safety priorities, uses these quarterly meetings to increase transparency and public engagement.

The next meeting, on Tuesday, December 9 at 12:30pm, will focus on Merseyside Police’s work to prevent and tackle violence against women and girls, workforce issues and police misconduct. However, residents are encouraged to submit questions on any policing or community safety topic.

The meeting will be live-streamed and a recording will be available on the PCC’s website afterward. Emily Spurrell said: “One of my top priorities as Commissioner is to listen to what our residents have to say and to be their voice on policing and community safety issues.

“Your questions and opinions matter and can help make Merseyside safer for everyone. I hope this opportunity reassures people that both myself and the Chief Constable are committed to being open and transparent about the police’s work.”
