Organisers of Liverpool Comic Con have issued an update ahead of this year’s event. The fan convention is set to return this autumn, bringing a number of stars to the Exhibition Centre Liverpool from Saturday, November 15 to Sunday, November 16. Thousands of fans are expected to turn out at the event over the weekend for a chance to meet some of their favourite celebrities.
In an update today, October 28, Liverpool Comic Con announced wrestling icon and Hollywood star John Cena will be signing collectable items exclusively for fans at the event, which will be going on sale this Friday.
An announcement posted on social media said: “Monopoly Events and Action Force Toys are extremely happy to announce an exclusive signing secured with the champ [John Cena] this week. It’s going to be on a limited number of items.”
Tickets go on sale on Friday at 8pm.
In an update last Tuesday, October 21, Liverpool Comic Con announced Cena would be appearing on both days of the convention. A post on social media read: “After selling out in record time we’re delighted to announce that John Cena will now be attending Comic Con Liverpool on both Saturday AND Sunday.
“More details and tickets will be announced tomorrow, but this WILL include a live stage panel hosted by the Greatest of All Time himself.
“More details to follow – but if you’re not attending Sunday then get your tickets asap!”
Throughout the weekend, attendees can look forward to autograph signings, professional photo sessions, and live Q&A panels where stars will discuss both their past work and upcoming projects.

Cena is a record 17-time world champion, holding the most recognised world title reigns in the promotion’s history, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.
He has also starred in numerous films and TV shows, including The Marine (2006), Bumblebee (2018), and F9 (2021), as well as currently starring in the TV series Peacemaker (2022–present) as the eponymous lead.
John Cena joins an already star-studded line-up, which includes Dirty Dancing icon Jennifer Grey – famed for her role as Frances “Baby” Houseman and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off actress Jeanie Bueller.
John Cena was spotted in the city back in 2023 while filming for Heads of State. The 17-time WWE champion was spotted in an around the city while filming was underway.
He starred as US President Will Derringer in the action comedy, which also stars Idris Elba as UK Prime Minister Sam Clarke. The two must set aside their differences after they are shot down in Air Force One and targeted by a ruthless adversary.
Cena, who is the current WWE Champion, was pictured working out at JD gyms on Dale Street when production of Heads of State came to the city.
Wearing a black top and black cap, the wrestler smiled and gave the peace sign as he took a photo with JD personal trainer Sam. Taking to Twitter, JD Gyms said: “Check out this photo of our amazing Personal Trainer Sam at JD Gyms Liverpool Dale Street posing next to our logo. What a guy… what a gym.”
