According to a new report, Vivo is set to deliver a new high-end Android smartphone packing a 6.31-inch display and a new Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. While not necessarily an X200 Pro mini or X200 FE successor, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini is still rumoured to be packing cutting-edge silicon.

Based on a recent Digital Chat Station post, Vivo has another X200 Pro mini facsimile in development as the S50 Pro Mini. To recap, there were suggestions a few days ago that the S50 Pro Mini would utilise the Dimensity 9400 chipset just like the X200 Pro mini before it. Writing on Weibo, Digital Chat Station now indicates that this previous claim was inaccurate.

Apparently, Vivo has turned to Qualcomm and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 for its next 6.31-inch smartphone. Based on a recent leak, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will provide the S50 Pro Mini with an Adreno 840 GPU, 2 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores on TSMC’s N3P manufacturing process for circa 3,000 single-core and 10,000 multi-core Geekbench 6 scores.

Moreover, the S50 Pro Mini is said to feature a periscope telephoto camera too. Unfortunately, it remains unclear when Vivo plans to introduce the S50 Pro Mini at this stage. Likewise, Digital Chat Station has not provided any clarity about whether Vivo will repackage the S50 Pro Mini as an X200 FE successor either.
