A new restaurant is coming to a Greater Manchester suburb which promises to provide a “true taste” of the Mediterranean.

Olio Flames is set to open soon in Didsbury, south Manchester, which is set to serve Mediterranean-inspired dishes.

In a post on social media platform Facebook, Olio Flames wrote: “Authentic Italian pepperoni, our homemade dough and a touch of Olio Flames passion.

“Soon in Didsbury, you’ll taste pizza the way it’s meant to be enjoyed. The wait is almost over.”

In another post, the soon-to-open restaurant wrote: “Sweet moments are on the way. Soon opening in Didsbury, Olio Flames will serve irresistible desserts crafted with love and Mediterranean charm. Get ready to end your meal the sweetest way possible.”

Expected to be on the menu are burgers, seafood, and “carefully selected” wines.

As well as Mediterranean dinners, the new restaurant is set to serve breakfasts and brunches where they will offer omelettes and “build your own” toast sandwiches.

The new restaurant is set to open on Wilmslow Road in Didsbury, where Turkish restaurant Zeugma used to be. Just over a year ago, Zeugma announced they would be “temporarily closing” with a post on Instagram.

In September 2024, Zeugma wrote on Instagram: “TEMPORARILY CLOSED. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be temporarily closed until further notice. Our apologies to our valued customers and any inconvenience this may cause.

“We hope to be back open soon, so please keep an eye on our socials for any updates. Zeugma.”

When it opens, Olio Flames is expected to have opening hours of Monday to Sunday, 8am until 10pm. On their website, it states: “Coming soon, Manchester.”
