Leeds United are going to be requiring attacking investment during the January window, and a previous reported target is putting himself right in the shop window.

Daniel Farke can’t have many complaints with how his return to Premier League life has gone at Leeds United.

A six-point gap to the bottom three after nine games is definitely positive, and stands him and the side in good stead with one eye potentially on reinvesting during January.

Are Leeds United going to address their right-wing struggles with a new signing?

The most glaring issue that Farke and the recruitment team have to address, and it’s been pointed out time and again since the summer, is the right-wing slot.

Willy Gnonto, Dan James and Brenden Aaronson have shared responsibility this season and last, but it’s the one area that could be drastically be enhanced by a quality signing.

How much Leeds have to throw at such a signing during the January window remains to be seen. But, there’ll be a desire from the club to rectify late-window failures.

Leeds notably missed out on Facundo Buonanotte to Chelsea on loan. Then, they failed to prise Harry Wilson out of Fulham on deadline day.

Previous Leeds United target Ilan Kebbal is flying high with five goals, four assists in Ligue 1

Links to attackers over the past 12 months have been from far and wide. One of those that excited fans with knowledge of French football was Paris FC’s star winger Ilan Kebbal.

United reportedly made contact with the Algerian international’s representatives over a possible move during the summer window in 2024.

Nothing materialised, but the winger’s career since has only proven why he’d be a perfect signing for Leeds.

Having helped Red Bull-invested Paris FC to promotion into Ligue 1 with five goals and seven assists, he’s on course to smash that return in the top flight this campaign.

He has five goals and four assists already this season. One of each came on Wednesday night in a thrilling 3-3 comeback from three down, sparked by Kebbal. The 27-year-old’s footwork contributed to Lyon’s Abner being sent off, as he helped stage a fightback.

At 3-1, he cut in and curled in an outstanding finish to reduce the deficit just to one. Then, he assisted Paris’ equaliser.

His form in the top flight of France is proving that he could be someone Leeds reignite their interest in going towards January. His ability when cutting inside and getting 1v1 with a full-back is what we’re crying out for.
