There was a positive development for Leeds long before the Premier League clash against Brighton kicked off.

Leeds loanee Joe Gelhardt was in action for Hull City against Norwich in the Championship early kick-off, and proceeded to score once again, making it four goals in his last four league outings.

Darko Gyabi – who was offloaded to the Tigers in September – also made an impact as he scored the second, and Hull Live have now shared their ratings from the game.

What Joe Gelhardt “struggled” to do at Carrow Road as Darko Gyabi seals win

Gelhardt – who Leeds won’t recall – is said to have “struggled” to make an impact early on at Carrow Road, but still managed to make a crucial contribution.

Hull Live wrote: “Struggled to make any real impact early on, but did early in the second when his brilliant finish put City a goal up. Four in four now for City’s in-form ace. 8/10.”

Discussing Gyabi, they stated: “Gave City extra energy in the middle of the park, something they lacked badly in the opening period.

“Scored the crucial second to kill it off. 7/10.”

Leeds inserted a sell-on clause when allowing Gyabi to join Hull on transfer deadline day, understood to be a massive 50% of any future sale.

Therefore, Leeds should have a vested interest in how well the 21-year-old performs for the Tigers, as it could reap significant financial benefits later down the line.

Cody Drameh also made an impact

There were many Leeds connections at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Not only did Gelhardt and Gyabi shine, but Cody Drameh – who left Leeds for Hull in July 2024 – also made a telling contribution against the Canaries.

The 23-year-old delivered the assist for Gyabi to seal all three points, leading Hull Live to post: “Gave City extra security in the final stages, and his cross eventually found Gyabi to seal a historic victory. 7/10.”

So, Sergej Jakirovic – manager of Hull – clearly has a lot to thank Leeds for after his side moved up to seventh in the Championship on Saturday.
