A beloved seaside attraction has announced its permanent closure, leaving local families heartbroken. Little Town Adventures, which opened on the seafront of Weston-Super-Mare in May last year, will be shutting its doors for good after the weekend.

The miniature town, providing a small-scale play world for children complete with realistic features such as a fire station, police station and tiny shops, has been a hit with families since its inception.

However, in a statement released on October 25, the business confirmed its impending closure, with the final day of entry scheduled for November 3, reports Somerset Live.

In a heartfelt message posted on the Little Town Adventures Facebook page, the team expressed their gratitude: “Firstly, we want to say thank you.

“Since opening in May 2024, we’ve loved welcoming your families to Little Town and seeing the brilliant make-believe worlds your children created here.

“Those memories mean a lot to our team. Little Town was a concept we first developed back in 2020 before Covid and to bring it to life was wonderful.

“However, after a great deal of review, we will be closing Little Town to the public permanently, with Sunday 3rd November being the last day of trade.”

The post continued, explaining that the business had “tried hard to find a new operator”, but acknowledged that “despite everyone’s best efforts, role-play venues have been very tough to sustain in the current climate”.

It also highlighted that “the parking restrictions in Weston-Super-Mare have also made trading harder for many businesses”.

Supporters of the venue have been swift to voice their dismay, with one individual commenting: “Absolutely gutted, you have such an amazing facility there!

“We were blown away when we first went there but I’ve always found the position of My little town on the beach front so difficult and therefore off putting. Will try and squeeze one last visit before it closes.”

Another parent remarked: “Really sad to hear this my kids love little towns and we come every weekend.” A third commented: “So sorry to hear this, my daughters most favourite place.”

The site is scheduled to be transformed into a Head Office and Training Centre for the business, where staff will “use the rooms as Montessori-inspired learning hubs”.

Several of the installations will also be relocated to Ocean Adventurers in Cheddar and Space Adventurers in Taunton which will remain operational as usual.

Little Town Adventures will remain open as normal throughout half term. Anyone with concerns about an existing booking for the attraction is advised to email hello@littletownadventures.co.uk.

The statement concluded: “Thank you again to every family who visited, recommended us, and cheered us on. It’s not the ending we hoped for, but we’re proud of what Little Town meant to so many children, for that we will forever be grateful. As we close this chapter, we’d also like to gently remind everyone to keep supporting local independent businesses.

“Across the UK, many role-play and soft-play venues have faced an exceptionally tough year, with visitor numbers and sales falling sharply. Every visit, birthday party, and coffee truly makes a difference – so if you can and are able to, please continue to support the venues you love.”
