Drivers across Wales are being warned to expect disruption on major routes this week as planned roadworks lead to a series of closures and lane restrictions. Busy roads including the M4 and several A-roads are among those affected, with motorists advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.

Below is the full list of scheduled road closures, partial closures, and disruptions affecting roads in Wales from Monday, November 3, onwards, according to Traffic Wales South and traffic monitoring system Inrix.

  • M4 Eastbound, from J26 Malpas to J24 Coldra. Road closed in both directions due to resurfacing work, with diversions in place. Road will be closed from November, 3 to November 6, 8pm to 6am.
  • M4 Westbound, from J24 Coldra to J26 Malpas. Road closed due to resurfacing work, diversions will be in place. This will be from November 3 to November 5, 8pm to 6am.
  • M4 Westbound from J24 Coldra to J28 Tredegar Park. Road set to be closed due to roadworks. Diversions will be in place. This will be from November 3 to November 5, 8pm to 6am.
  • M4 Eastbound from J26 Malpas to J25A Grove Park. Road closed due to roadworks, with diversions in place. This will be in effect from November 5 to November 7, 8pm to 6am.
  • M4 Westbound from J27 High Cross; the onslip will be closed as a result of roadworks. Diversions are in place. This is from November 2 to November 3, 8pm to 6am.
  • M4 Eastbound, J28 Tredegar Park to J24 Coldra. Roadworks will see the road closed, diversions in place. In effect from November 5 to November 7, 8pm to 6am.
  • M4 Eastbound to J42 Earlswood. Offslip will be closed due to roadworks, diversions in place; from November 4 to November 5, 7.30pm to 1am.
  • M48 Severn Bridge Eastbound closed due to roadworks during the night between J2 A466 Wye Valley Link Road (Chepstow) and J1 A403 (Aust). This will be in effect from 8pm on the November 3 to 6am on November 4. Diversion in place via the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge.
  • The A5, Shropshire, will be closed in both directions due to roadworks during the night from B5070 Chirk Road (Gledrid Roundabout, Gledrid) to A483 (Halton Roundabout, Halton). In effect from 8pm on November 3 to 6am on November, 4.
  • A55, Conwy, Westbound will be closed due to roadworks during the night from J18 A546 6G Road (Conwy / Llandudno Junction) to J17 A547 (Conwy Morfa). A contraflow will be running in the eastbound direction, Mondays to Sundays from 7am to 7pm on the November 9 to November 11.
  • A55, Conwy, Eastbound closed due to roadworks during the night from J17 A547 (Conwy Morfa) to J18 A546 6G Road (Conwy / Llandudno Junction). A contraflow will be running in the westbound direction. From 7pm on the November 8 to 7am November, 9.
  • Lane closed due to roadworks on A40 (Carmarthenshire) in both directions from B4312 (Johnstown) to A4066 High Street (St Clears). Expect delays. Will be in effect between 9.30am and 3.30pm Mondays to Fridays until 13.30 on November, 7.
