Two teenage boys are set to appear in court following an alleged incident in a Manchester park.
Greater Manchester Police arrested two 16-year-olds on Friday (April 25) following an alleged incident at Nutsford Vale Park, between Levenshulme and Gorton.
The pair were arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
In an update issued this morning (Sunday), GMP confirmed it had secured charges against the two suspects, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
They are due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Monday.
A GMP spokesperson said: “We have charged two 16-year old-males, who cannot be named for legal reasons, with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
“They have been charged and remanded into custody to appear at Manchester Magistrates tomorrow (Monday, April 28).
“These charges relate to an incident which took place at Nutsford Vale Park on Friday, April 25.”
In a previous statement, GMP said its Professional Standards Directorate was investigating the way police handled the incident.
