Veterans Housing Scotland (VHS) will share in £4.5 million awarded to support veterans with a housing need.
VHS is just one of 19 organisations to receive a share of £4.5 million from the Veterans’ Capital Housing Fund.
These projects will provide new build properties and also significant refurbishment of existing rental accommodation offering high quality support for veterans who require housing.
Nine grants are awarded under the Major Capital Grants programme, which supports new build accommodation and significant refurbishment and extension of accommodation for veterans. A further 10 supplementary grants are awarded to existing projects of which VHS is one.
Kevin Gray, Chief Executive of Veterans Housing Scotland, said he was delighted to learn that the charity has been awarded an Office for Veteran’s Affairs Capital Supplementary Fund from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.
He said: “We are grateful to the AFCFT as always for its continued support of VHS. This additional funding will help with the refurbishment programme currently underway and will specifically fund replacement windows and doors ensuring that our beneficiaries and their homes are warm and draught free ahead of the coming winter.”
