Prince William and other members of the royal family may no longer be welcoming to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle if they turn up at royal events, but a fractured relationship hasn’t meant a change in the future king and his brother’s shared interests.

The two sons of King Charles III and the late Princess Diana have had a fractured relationship since Harry and his wife stepped away from royal duties and moved to the U.S. in 2020, just two years after their royal wedding.

But while the brothers have had a seemingly frosty relationship since, both have recently been seen in different locations–with William in Brazil and Harry and his wife in Los Angeles taking in the World Series — showcasing their shared love of sports.

William was seen on the first day of his visit to Brazil’s popular city, Rio de Janiero, engaging in his love of sport as he mingled with locals.

At the Cocacabana Beach, he was seen taking part in a game of volleyball with players from the Levante Institute.

Kicking off his shoes, William, 43, plunged into the sand in black pants and a green button-down shirt, showing off his competitive side as he dove and made as much effort as possible to play the game.

The Prince had also spent his day visiting the Maracana, where the national soccer team plays their games as well.

The events are all a part of his Earthshot Prize awards

He is set to be in the country for five days, and is set to award the prize, an annual honor from his own charity, on Wednesday.

The prize awards a $1 million grant in five different categories for projects that aim to repair the world’s climate. The Prince has committed himself to the project for 10 years.

Harry, 41, despite no longer being a working royal, has also notably brought his own love of sport into his charity endeavors, with his annual Invictus Games.

The Games are an international sporting event for wounded, sick and injured service members and their families.

He and Markle, 44, both attended the games in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, earlier this year.

Most recently, the couple took in game 4 of the World Series in Los Angeles’ Dodgers stadium, where they cheered on the team and Shohei Otani as they attempted to clinch the title of World Series champions.

The team went on to win after seven games total, clinching the title for the second year in a row.
