Australian spend management platform ProSpend has been acquired by UK-based software group ISH as part of an effort to expand its presence in global markets.

ProSpend, which was founded in Sydney and previously known as expensemanager, will remain focused on developing practical solutions tailored to mid-market finance teams, targeting the challenges of manual expense management and accounts payable automation.

The agreement will see ProSpend retain its existing platform, customer contracts, data residency, support channels, and teams, with no immediate changes for its more than 1,000 customers that include businesses such as Nike, KFC, Baskin Robbins, Best&Less, Monash College, Forty Winks and Autism Spectrum.

Shared focus

ISH was selected by ProSpend for its experience in supporting founder-run SaaS businesses and a demonstrated record in spend management. Both companies stated that their shared focus is to remain attentive to customer requirements, especially in the areas of financial control, visibility, and efficiency for finance teams.

“We’ll bring go-to-market support, capital and our operator network to help ProSpend land and expand in the UK and Europe, while keeping product focus exactly where customers want it: control, visibility and time back for finance teams.”

Adam Reynolds, Managing Partner at ISH, said, “Fintech is a natural next step for ISH. ProSpend solves real-world finance challenges with elegant, enterprise-ready software, and we see a clear path to rapid growth across our core markets.”

The acquisition forms part of ISH’s Fintech Track initiative, which seeks to address fragmentation in areas such as invoices, expenses, cards, approvals, and policy control by unifying specialist products and teams. This strategy employs ISH’s operator-led approach in the finance technology sector.

Growth plans

For ProSpend, the deal is expected to facilitate rapid expansion while maintaining its core mission. Sharon Nouh, Founder & CEO of ProSpend, said, “Joining ISH gives us the platform and expertise to realise our next stage of growth.”

“We’ve always wanted ProSpend to be an Aussie-founded global company. With ISH’s backing, we can scale faster, strengthen compliance and security, and invest further in the product and our customers while staying true to the mission of helping finance teams take control of company spend.”

Launched in 2015, ProSpend brings together expenses, accounts payable, virtual cards and budgets within one workflow, aiming to give finance teams real-time visibility and enhanced auditability over company spend.

According to both organisations, ProSpend will continue operating independently in Australia and New Zealand, with continued investment in regional hiring, partnerships and customer services. At the same time, work is underway to prepare a compliant, locally supported launch in the UK and Ireland from 2026.

ISH aims to build and scale founder-run SaaS businesses by providing resources such as capital, go-to-market expertise, and operational support, while keeping existing teams and cultures intact. Its Fintech Track focuses on payments and controls, consolidating workflows and the underlying data for finance teams.
