Police have launched an appeal to find a missing schoolgirl after she was last seen leaving a Birmingham landmark.

Mataya, who is aged 15, was reported missing from Bridgnorth and was last seen leaving New Street Station three days ago.

Officers said the girl, who is around 5ft 7 ins tall, was spotted at the rail hub at 9.20pm on Thursday, April 24.

Now, three days on, West Mercia Police has issued two images in a bid to find her. She is said to have connections to Milton Keynes, London, Kent and Bedfordshire.

In an appeal, the force said: “We are appealing for information to find 15-year-old Mataya who has been reported missing from Bridgnorth and was last seen in Birmingham.

“Mataya is mixed race, around 5ft 7 inches tall, of a slim build and has dark hair.

“She was last seen leaving New Street Station in Birmingham on Thursday (24 April) at around 9.20pm.

“The CCTV image shows her exiting the station, believed to be onto Navigation Street, wearing a black jumper and trousers and carrying an Adidas rucksack.

“Mataya has connections to Milton Keynes, London, Kent and Bedfordshire. Please call 01743 264825 immediately if you see Mataya or have information on her whereabouts.”
