Andrew Garfield has addressed a possible return to the Spider-Man franchise.
The actor played Peter Parker in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man and 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, before going on to reprise the role in 2021’s No Way Home alongside fellow Spidey’s Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire.
During an appearance at the Middle East Film & Comic Con in Abu Dhabi, Garfield said he’s open to reprising the role again, but the concept “would have to be very weird”.
“I really love playing Spider-Man. I would love to play the character again in some capacity, but I think it would have to be very weird,” he said at the panel.
“I think I would want to do something very strange.”

The star continued: “I would want to do something very unique, and offbeat, and surprising, kind of like the creative freedom that they have with the animated Spider-Verse movies.
“I think they’re so great and you can honour the character in so many different ways through the multiverse.”
It comes after Garfield addressed specifically returning for Tom Holland’s upcoming fourth Spider-Man movie, sharing that fans may be disappointed.

“I’m gonna disappoint you. Yeah, no,” he told GQ earlier this year, though he did admit that many may not believe him after he initially lied about his No Way Home cameo.
“But I know no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on,” he joked.
Spider-Man 4 will release on July 24, 2026. Spider-Man: No Way Home is available to buy now on Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store and other digital retailers.
