• Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended Game 4 of the MLB World Series on Oct. 28, where the Los Angeles Dodgers played against the Toronto Blue Jays.
  • The royal couple rocked L.A. Dodgers caps during the game, which was played on their home turf.
  • On Nov. 6, Harry jokingly apologized to Canadians for repping their opposing team during the game.

Prince Harry just dodged some drama during an interview with a Canadian TV outlet. A few days after he and his wife, Meghan Markle, attended Game 4 of the MLB World Series on October 28, the Duke of Sussex jokingly cleared their names after they wore merch from Canada’s opposing team.

Harry and Meghan pulled up to Dodger Stadium in L.A., where they wore the team’s signature blue caps in the crowd as they played against the Toronto Blue Jays. On November 6, Harry made a trip to Toronto to meet with veterans before Remembrance Day on November 11—and he cleared the air about what he dubs “Hat-Gate” at the World Series while on Canadian territory.

“I was under duress,” Harry explained during an interview with CTV News. “There wasn’t much choice. I was invited to the Dodgers dugout by the owner. I was doing what I thought was the polite thing to do.”

He seemed to be in good spirits as he made a self-deprecating joke. After placing a Blue Jays cap on his head, Harry said, “When you’re missing a lot of hair on top, and you’re sitting under floodlights, you’ll take any hat that’s available.”

He then explained, “Game 5, Game 6, Game 7, I was Blue Jays throughout. Now that I’ve admitted that, it’s going to be pretty hard for me to return back to Los Angeles.”

Keep Up With Harry and Meghan

While Harry and Meghan have been in Montecito for a while, they also have ties to Toronto, considering Meghan lived there for over six years while filming Suits. They also hosted the Invictus Games in the Canadian city back in 2017…not to mention that Harry’s dad is Canada’s Head of State, since Canada is a constitutional monarchy.

^^^ All of this to say: nice save, Prince Charming.
