Marc Leonard had to replace Paik Seung-ho after the Birmingham City midfielder suffered an injury in the opening stages at Middlesbrough
Birmingham City midfielder Paik Seung-ho
Birmingham City were rocked by a nasty injury to influential midfielder Paik Seung-ho moments into their match with Middlesbrough.
Paik challenged for an early header before landing awkwardly and required lengthy on-field treatment before being replaced by Marc Leonard.
The midfielder appeared to be suffering from pain in his left shoulder but, despite a stretcher being called for, he was able to walk off the field.
Paik grimaced as he made his way down the tunnel and his participation in South Korea’s friendly with Bolivia next week is now in doubt.
The 28-year-old has recently returned to form with two goals in Blues’ last two matches but he wasn’t able to add to his three goals in the Championship at The Riverside.
Blues boss Chris Davies will hope Paik’s injury is a minor one given the South Korean’s importance to Blues’ set-up.
