Abu Dhabi’s iconic Yas Marina circuit is coming to Gran Turismo 7 as part of its free Spec 3 update next month, where it’s sure to dazzle in Polyphony Digital’s hands.
But the return of a fan favourite vehicle teased in an all-new trailer is what’s got fans talking: the ludicrous Renault Espace F1.
The car previously built a fan base in 1999, when it was included in Gran Turismo 2. And after much support from fans, it’s making a comeback as part of the upcoming update.
You can catch a glimpse of the vehicle at around the 00:32 mark in the abovementioned trailer, and needless to say all the YouTube comments are talking about its inclusion.

“The mad lads at [Polyphony Digital] finally did it, they got Espace F1 back home,” one user wrote. “My 25 years wait is over. One of the Gran Turismo 2 legends is back, baby!”
It’s quite amusing to see such an outpouring of love for such an oddball car.
First shown off in the mid-90s, the vehicle looks like a Renault Espace from the outside, but has F1 components, allowing it to hit top speeds of up to 312km/h.
The car’s inclusion, and fan’s reaction to it, shows off the unique kind of fanbase Gran Turismo has cultivated over the years.
This is a series just as much about car culture as it is racing, and the fact that the Renault Espace F1 has got a better reception than the new circuit itself (which looks incredible, by the way) is testament to that.
