Rumours are swirling that a major American rock band may be coming to Liverpool after a leading concert promoter appeared to tease an upcoming appearance at Anfield Stadium.
GigsandTours, the X account representing leading UK promotor S.J.M. Concerts, took to the social media platform today, November 9, with a picture of the letters “FF” emblazoned on the seats of Anfield. The post prompted much speculation, as fans believed the post hinted at an upcoming Foo Fighters show.
The Foo Fighters, founded in 1994 by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, have not yet officially announced any performances in the UK for 2026, though a tour is expected. The Washington-based alternative rock band last appeared in the UK in 2024 for their All Or Nothing tour, which featured shows in Manchester, Glasgow, London, Cardiff and Birmingham.
Responding to the post on X (formerly Twitter), the Foo Fighters Archive fan page responded: “Waiting for the first “Foo’ll Never Walk Alone” headline”. Foo Fighters UK, a “100% unofficial” fan account, also appeared to show interest.

Should the rumours prove true, it will be the first time the Foo Fighters have performed in Liverpool since 2008, when Dave Grohl was joined onstage by Paul McCartney during his headline performance.
The Foo Fighters are not the only artists rumoured to be planning a visit to Anfield Stadium, which previously hosted big names such as Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, Lana Del Ray and Pink.
Rumours have been spreading that Lady Gaga is set to announce new UK tour dates at both Anfield Stadium and London’s Wembley Stadium. The performances are expected to mark the final European stadium leg of the artist’s ongoing Mayhem Ball tour in May 2026.
Reliable insiders from Lady Gaga’s fan community, who have previously leaked accurate information about her North American and Japanese tour dates, now claim the singer is set to return to the UK next year.
The Bad Romance superstar is rumoured to announce both her Liverpool and stadium shows by the end of November, coinciding with the potential reveal of “Total Mayhem” – the follow-up to her latest album.

In September, My Chemical Romance fans correctly speculated about a potential Anfield show after noticing advertising featuring the band’s logo on screens during the Merseyside Derby.
Band member Frank lero also posted a selfie wearing a Liverpool FC shirt and cap and captioned the post “All eyez on the pitch tomorrow, Let’s go Reds!” ahead of the game.
Days later the band was confirmed as the first of Anfield Stadium’s summer concert lineup, with a gig taking place on Tuesday, June 30 next year. The home of Liverpool FC has become one of the UK’s premier live music destinations during the football off season.
