Police and Bristol’s CCTV team tracked suspect down to Castle Park

A suspect in his 30s has been arrested in Bristol after reports of a cosh-carrying man making threats in a shop. Cops were called to Castle Park on Sunday morning.
They had been called after staff at premises in Wine Street said they had been threatened. Police units were sent to the scene shortly after 8.30am.
They arrested a man who remains in custody. He is expected to be questioned today.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police has given details. She said: “Patrolling officers arrested a man in Castle Park, Bristol, at about 8.45am on Sunday 9 November.
“They had responded to a call from staff at a shop in Wine Street at about 8.25am, reporting a man making threats.
“After enquiries including checks with Bristol City Council ’s CCTV team, they found a man matching the description in the park.
“A man in his thirties from Bristol was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon (a cosh) and possession with intent to supply cocaine. He remains in police custody.”
