The news comes after Yate Town announced the death of former player Martin Durnell. Speaking on Friday, November 7, a representative of the club said: “The club have recently been made aware of the sad passing of former player and manager of the club, Martin Durnell.
“Martin always conducted himself with all the right qualities befitting of the club and will be fondly remembered by many Bluebell fans and former players. Yate Town FC send their condolences to all his family and friends and we will be inviting some family members to our home game against Bracknell on November 22nd.
“Martin’s funeral is at Canford Crematorium, Westbury-on Trym at 11.15am on Wednesday 19th November, followed by a wake at Filton Golf Club.”
It is not known whether the game’s cancellation is related to the former player’s death. Yate Town FC have been approached for comment.
